Lene Skaug, sole-operator of www.norsk.com.au, offers Norwegian language tuition and NAATI recognised translations. I'm a native Norwegian speaker with more than 30 years' experience. I have my teacher qualification from Norway and I completed a Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) at Macquarie University, Sydney in 2000.
I started teaching Norwegian in Sydney in 2002; offering Norwegian Language Courses for beginners to advanced learners at the Norwegian Church Abroad, Sjømannskirka as well as offering private tuition. I started teaching online in 2012, when an Australian working periodically in Norway got in contact with me wanting to learn Norwegian. I have students varying in age from 15 to 75 years old, some live in Australia, some in Norway, and sometimes people are located in other countries. Some students want to go to Norway as exchange students, some plan a trip to Norway, some people would like to move to Norway and work there, while others have Norwegian friends or family they want to stay in touch with. And some just love the Norwegian language and culture and want to learn more about it.
I became a NAATI recognised translator here in Australia in 2004 and I'm specialising in documents for Visa Purposes, Education and Employment, Social Work, Travelling, Culture and Art. I have also worked on projects such as the Foreign Correspondent on ABC TV and I have written resources for the Norwegian digital language platform BASAR for Cappelen Damm, Norway's largest publisher.
I'm passionate about teaching, languages and culture, travelling and tourism, and I'm looking forward to expand my business in these areas in the years ahead. In my spare time, I'm an avid reader and I love going for beach walks, doing yoga or visiting a pool.
I would love to meet with Australian businesses, schools and organisations interested in learning more about the Norwegian language and culture. Please feel free to contact me on
